Origami cranes hold special lore in the Japanese culture. Legend has it that anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will have their heart's desire come true. The crane is also a symbol of peace because of a young Japanese girl named Sadako Sasaki and the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. I started folding cranes after reading the book while I was teaching. I love folding all kinds of origami but cranes hold a special place in my heart. I wanted to combine my love of music and origami into an ornament that had a message. I use vintage sheet (it's sourced from old hymnals, song books, piano books, any thing headed to the dump I can salvage from) to make the crane then I add a beautiful hand stamped PEACE charm to the bottom.
This peace crane is made from a single sheet of sheet music and folded into the origami crane. I then add the ribbon in your choice of color (choices in drop down menu at check out) with the hand stamped PEACE charm at the bottom. The paper crane is 4 inches wide from wing tip to wing tip, 2 1/2 inches long from beak to tail and the whole piece hangs at 5 inches long from the top of the ribbon to the charm on the bottom.

Custom and personalized orders
Yes, I can customize pretty much anything in my shop. I can make custom color schemes for any mobile, ornament, boutonniere or bouquet. I can also customize frames, gift sets and mirrors.
Care instructions
All origami items are made with paper and can not be cleaned with any cleaner or damp cloths. I recommend dusting with a feather duster or Swiffer type duster at least once a month. I also recommend using canned air to clean dust out from inside the folds of the origami pieces. Frames and mirrors may be cleaned using a damp cloth.
Gift wrapping and packaging
If your item is a gift I am happy to add a gift note (on a handmade card) along with an invoice with no prices on it. Please just leave a note for me at purchase. Some items can be gift wrapped (ornaments, frames and mirrors). There is an extra charge for gift wrapping and can be purchased at checkout.
Custom Order Policy
Please note I am happy to make custom orders but they either need to be paid for or have a deposit put down before I start work. Each custom piece is unique and handmade, so they can not be resold if buyers back out before payment. I will send paper samples for approval to make sure orders are what you want.
